Project Title: To Search for a Sustainable UK-China Film Collaboration Model: Unlocking issues around Film Distribution Mechanisms

Project Period: February 14 – August 13, 2019

Hosted by the School of Journalism, Media and Culture at Cardiff University, this AHRC funded creative industries partnership development project aims to gather stakeholders in the film industry in both the UK and China and academics together to tackle issues around international film distribution mechanisms.

Here are some moments from our recent fruitful research trip and workshop in Shanghai.

The project team (Matthew Hurst, James Mudge, Roderik Smits and myself) explored different opportunities to enhance future film collaboration between the UK and China as well as networked with key stake holders. With thanks to our project partner Professor Rong Yueming and his team from Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences to facilitate all meetings.
